Finding Your Pace and Developing Your Plan

Coach Johnson will cover the following topics to help you develop a training plan designed to have you working at an optimal level:

  • how to determine workout paces
  • how fast should you run long runs, easy runs, speed work
  • when to schedule these various runs
Second Saturday Clinics are free to Charleston Running Club members and are only $5 for non-members. Cash or check only payable to Charleston Running Club. Payment is required at the clinic.

Brian JohnsonCoach Brian Johnson is currently the Men’s Cross Country Coach at the College of Charleston. He holds a Master’s Degree in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University. He is a USA Track & Field Certified Coach with Level I and Level II Endurance Coach Certification. He has 13 years of college coaching experience and has coached all levels of runners through various clinics throughout the Lowcountry including the Lowcountry Distance Clinic for High School athletes, the official Cooper River Bridge Run Clinic, and the 2011 Beat the Bridge Run Clinic. Brian has won the Kiawah Island Marathon in 1999 and 2010 and has also won the Cooper River Bridge Run’s Marcus Newberry Award for top local finisher in 2009. Brian is sponsored as an athlete and coach by Brooks Running as a member of the Brooks Inspire Daily Program.
